En adaptant le célèbre roman de Jack London L’Appel de la forêt, les deux auteurs tchèques Jakub Maksymo et Carolina Arandia signent une impressionnante composition théâtrale pour six acteurs, un percussionniste, dix microphones, quatre chiens et un cerf… aussi vrais que nature.

C’est l’histoire de Buck, un chien bien élevé au poil épais qui vit heureux dans une grande maison de la vallée ensoleillée de Santa Clara. Un jour, il est volé puis vendu comme chien de traineau pour travailler dans la province canadienne de Yukon. Nous sommes en pleine époque de la ruée vers l’or. Une fois arrivé en Alaska, Buck s’interroge : pourquoi fait-il si froid ici ? Quelle est cette matière blanche qui tombe du ciel sur mon museau ? Quel animal dégage une telle odeur ? Qu’est ce qui hurle dans le lointain ?

Une magnifique lutte pour la vie portée par d’impressionnants acteurs marionettistes et conjuguée à une mise en scène éclatante de vérité et de surprises.

Adapting famous Jack London’s book The Call of the Wild, the czechs authors Jakub Maksymo and Carolina Arandia are delivering an impressive theater piece for six comedians, a percussionist, ten microphones, four dogs and a deer… as real as they could be in the wild.

It’s the story of Buck, a well-raised dog with a thick fur, living happily in a large house of the Santa Clara’s sunny valley. One day, he gets stollen and sold as a sled dog to work in the Yukon Canadian province. We are in the middle of the gold rush era. Once arrived, Buck is wondering: why is this place so cold? What is this white thing falling from sky to my muzzle? Which animal could smell like this? What is screaming so far away?

A beautiful struggle for life impersonated by impressive puppeteers/actors with a truly surprising staging.
